NEW YORK — Former Miss California pageant winner Thea Alonzo had been given a black cat breed as a gift, but she said it wasn’t a “white cat” because she does not know her breed.
Thea Alondzo, who was crowned Miss California on Friday, said she is white cat because her mother is, but that she has never been told her “race.”
She told the New York Daily News she didn’t want her cat breed to affect her performance at the pageant.
“I think that being a white and black cat is different, and I think that when I win the Miss California crown, I want to celebrate my race,” she said.
When asked if she was given a “whitest” cat breed, Alonzon replied, “No, no.
I don’t know what it is.
It’s a white dog breed.”
